Getting to Lake Iseo by car, train and plane
A4 motorway exits, the Brescia-Iseo-Edolo railway along the Brescia shore, Bergamo and Verona airports and the lake boats: every way to reach the lake.
Lake Iseo lies between the provinces of Brescia and Bergamo, less than an hour from both cities, and is easy to reach by any means.
By car
The A4 Milan-Venice motorway runs a few kilometres from the lake. The handiest exits are:
- Rovato, for Iseo and Franciacorta.
- Palazzolo sull’Oglio, for Sarnico and the southern lake.
- Bergamo, then the SS42 road to Lovere and the northern lake.
- Brescia Ovest, from the east, towards Iseo.
From 15 November to 15 April, winter tyres or snow chains on board are compulsory on roads in the area.
By train
The Brescia-Iseo-Edolo railway runs along the Brescia shore, stopping at Iseo, Sulzano, Sale Marasino, Marone and Pisogne. The most frequent boats to Monte Isola leave from Sulzano. The Bergamo shore is served by buses from Bergamo.
By plane
The nearest airport is Bergamo Orio al Serio, about 40 kilometres from the lake. Verona and Milan airports are also convenient.
By boat
Once at the lake, Navigazione Lago d’Iseo boats link villages on both shores and Monte Isola, with more frequent sailings in the warmer months.
Timetables, fares and routes can change: always check the Trenord, Navigazione Lago d’Iseo and airport websites before you travel.
